Welcome to Class 6 with Mr McCormack!
After the upheaval of the last year we’ve got loads of work to do but I can promise you that you will learn lots whilst having a lot of fun! Coming into the Juniors can be a nervous time for children but that’s why we spend so much time making them settled so that they are ready to focus on the tasks we set. We are fortunate to have Mrs Anderson in our class to support us and Mrs Sloane’s also pops in to help teach our art and french.
School day for Year 3 commences at 9am and finishes at 3:15pm. Parents/carers are not allowed on site so we ask that you wait at the upper side gate (Hindmarch Drive) at drop off and collection times. There will be signs on either side of the gate showing where to line up for each Year 3 class.
P.E.
This term, Class 6 will have Dance on a Wednesday morning and swimming on a Wednesday afternoon. Children need to come to school in their P.E. kits on both days.
Reading & Homework
Reading is a hugely important part of our curriculum, and we ask that you aim to read with your child at least 3 times per week (and sign their pink reading diaries). Children who have read to an adult 3 times in a week will be able to tick a square on our class reading challenge. Once we reach 100 we will be rewarded with a class prize! Let’s get reading!
Homework in Year 3 consists of daily reading (as mentioned above) and weekly spellings. Spellings will be given out once per week and tested on a Friday morning.
