Year 3/4 attended a workshop about historical religious figures from the Bible at Boldon Methodist Church.
Miss Swales invited Len from Bible Comes Alive back to our school on Monday to present Year 3 /4 with some prizes for their hard work. Each child was awarded a colourful bag during a special assembly.Well done Year 3/4!
Len finished the special assembly with a fun song that ALL of the children love to sing with actions.
In assembly, Mrs Weightman read aloud 3 short stories about children who had been given a present, offered help or asked to join in a game. We had to spot what was missing from the stories and we all knew that the children should have said, “thank you”. We talked about why it was important to use good manners in school; it helps bring us together as a community and shows we have respect for one another. Mrs Weightman then shared some exciting news! Every Friday, children who have impressed any adult in school with their good manners (especially at lunchtime!), will be invited to take a seat on the Golden Table. This will be a special table in the hall where a table cloth will be laid, special plates will be used and members of the school council will take food orders and serve the food to the table! What a special treat it will be!
The children welcome visitors from St Nicholas Church at every Thursday morning assembly.
Each week, our guests present a story from the ‘Open Book’ telling stories from the Bible and about the teaching of Jesus.
Here is a peek of the children rehearsing Sign2Sing and as you can see, they are great at it!
Key Stage One and Two both visited Saint Nicholas Church in Boldon to sing some of our Christmas songs.
Father Raymond thought we sung beautifully. It was a great experience to visit our local church.
The teachers were also very impressed at how sensibly the children conducted themselves when walking to and from the church. Well done everyone.
